A safe journey to wilderness and auroras of Inari starts here

Situated near Inari village in Lapland, Finland and taken care of by local hostess (living next to the hut) this is a dream come true of safety, auroras, lake scenery and local things.

This is how it all started…

My late husband owned a log hut on an island in Inarijärvi. When he died I had to take out everything of the rental area. First I was thinking of selling the hut but then our friends promised to help me to take it out and bring it to my house in Inari. In 2024 spring we pulled it down and drove it by snowmobiles to my house. During the summer my friends put it back in shape and under to roof to keep it well.

I was still thinking that it would be as a guestroom to my family, relatives and friends (because my house is full of handicrafts (looms etc.)). But do you know how expensive it is to build something now? So I had to decide to start to rent it also.

Someday I am going to build a sauna next to it and that is why it does not have any washing possibilities yet during winter. In summertime we have the lake.

So what I have to offer? A cosy little hut near a house on the beach of Inari lake (you can see the wholy Ukko island from the terrace), warmed with an oven, electricity for safety, arctic toilet. You have to walk on a path 50 meters to the hut from the parking place. The lady of the house is usually home during your stay and can also show you some things (local and otherwise).There is a possibility to make a fire outside and in winter you can go for a walk on the ice (be sure you have reflectiors on you if it is dark) or swimming in summer.
